Director of Behavioral Health ($106,256 – $136,024 annually)
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Behavioral Health Services position is responsible for the administrative and clinical management of behavioral health services provided by High Plains Community Health Center. This position participates in the development of integrated health care and assuring services are available for patients.

PRODUCTIVITY AND EXPECTATIONS:
The Director of Behavioral Health Services is an essential component to the success of HPCHC. This position is expected to prioritize time and responsibilities in the following manner:
60%: Clinical
- Provide direct care to patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Establish clinical goals utilizing a team approach for input and discussion.
- Supervise, coach, and develop behavioral health providers, staff, and students, and conduct performance reviews.
- Provide ongoing clinical staff development.
30%: Leadership
- Provide oversight for the creation, implementation, and management of integrated clinical programs within the BH service line
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic planning and implementation of integrated services.
- Seek and respond to opportunities for new revenue streams (e.g., grants, contracts, managed care contracts, governmental relations, etc.)
- Work collaboratively with the CMO to monitor revenue and fiscal expenditures.
5%: Quality
- Lead clinical quality strategies meeting clinical benchmarks for quality and productivity, and ensuring high quality, culturally responsive patient care in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and grant requirements.
- Responsible for audit and compliance activities to ensuring services and standards follow all state, federal, and HPCHC regulations.
- Coordinate quarterly peer review processes to ensure accurate record documentation.
- Serve on the Continuous Quality Improvement committee ensuring program staff are knowledgeable of required quality assurance activities and participate in improvement monitoring specific to clinical performance.
5%: Community
- Participate in community outreach, increasing access to care, reducing barriers to treatment, and advancing the mission and vision of HPCHC.
- Establish and maintain community partnerships.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Social Work required.
- Active Colorado license as a Licensed Clinical Social Work or Licensed Professional Counselor required.
- 7 years of experience in behavioral healthcare managing operations with at least 3 years in a leadership role required.
- Expertise in clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions with individuals, couples, families, and groups and knowledgeable of requirements for providing clinical program oversight.
- Willingness and ability to work on a virtual platform to provide telehealth services.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of integrated primary care.
- Demonstrated ability to practice and lead from a social justice lens, with a commitment to cultural responsiveness and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to navigate program compliance and audits, and to manage billing and reporting.
- Medical literacy, as demonstrated by familiarity with common medical terms, first-line psychiatric medications, understanding of medical culture, and with interdisciplinary treatment teams.
- Experience working with a diverse population and/or underserved populations preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems preferred.
- Spanish language skills preferred.
